A columbarium is a monument designed to hold cremation urns. Each columbarium is sealed for protection and can be personalized. Unlike traditional burial, no ground excavation is needed, making it a simpler, more cost-effective way to provide a permanent place to visit and honor a loved one.

How is a TRADITIUM™ Columbarium different from traditional or overseas models?
Our TRADITIUM™ columbariums are built with precision-fit granite pieces that are weatherproof, maintenance-free, and ready in weeks, not months. Traditional cemetery monuments can take 12+ months from ordering to installation. Many imported columbariums are made from granite panels glued together. We often see imported columbariums with glued seams loosening, moisture getting in and upkeep required.

What is an upright monument?
An upright monument is a traditional, above-ground granite memorial that sits on a base and rises vertically from the ground. It typically marks a burial site and can be engraved with names, dates and laser etched photos.

How long does it take to receive a TRADITIUM™ columbarium?
Most projects are completed in 4–6 weeks from design approval to installation. This is significantly faster than the 12–18 months often required for traditional monuments.

Can we have a ceremony when placing the urn?
Yes. While installation is handled privately by our team, we can coordinate a separate ceremony at the cemetery for placing the urn. This allows family and friends to gather for a meaningful moment.

Can I personalize the design?
Absolutely. We can laser etch photographs and imagery into granite, as well as offer a variety of base colors and finishes.

What granite colors work best for laser etching?
Black granite produces the clearest and most detailed laser etchings. The dark background creates a high-contrast image, making photos, text, and details stand out.

Can I add to or update the columbarium later?
Yes. Many families choose to reserve multiple niches for future use, and we can add inscriptions or design details as needed.

Are columbariums more cost-effective than traditional burial and monument?
Yes. A columbarium can hold multiple urns on a single cemetery plot, which can be far less expensive than purchasing separate plots for each burial.
